Rachel and Mauricio Ortega became aware of God’s call when they were teens. During her first mission trip at age 14, Rachel worked at an orphanage in El Salvador and fell in love with the country and its people. Rachel and Mauricio met a few years later while working at the orphanage and providing food and clothing for the many families that lived in the San Salvador garbage dump. Realizing they had the same vision, they fell in love, married, and began Love and Hope Children’s Home and Evangelical Church. As pastor of Love and Hope Evangelical Church, Mauricio is able to provide much needed guidance to the community. Love and Hope Children’s Home provides a loving family atmosphere for orphaned and abandoned children. Rachel and Mauricio’s vision is to open children’s homes throughout the country and plant a church alongside each home. |
